Data we process and why

We process contact details, appointment information, billing records and the employment facts you choose to provide. We use this information to answer enquiries, prepare and deliver a requested consultation, meet accounting duties, secure our services and establish or defend legal claims. The legal bases may include steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligation and our legitimate interests in administering the practice.

Please avoid sending medical records, identity documents or unrelated family information. If a consultation genuinely requires sensitive information, we will explain the basis and safeguards first.

Retention

Unbooked enquiry messages are normally deleted after six months. Consultation correspondence and working notes are generally retained for three years after the end of the engagement, unless a longer period is needed for a legal claim. Invoices and tax records are retained for the periods required by German law. We delete or anonymise data when the relevant purpose and retention duty end.

Recipients and processors

Data may be handled by providers supporting email, video meetings, secure storage, invoicing and website hosting, under appropriate contractual safeguards. We disclose information to authorities or professional advisers only where required or justified.

International transfers

We prefer processing in Germany or the European Economic Area. If a provider processes data in a country without an EU adequacy decision, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism such as European Commission standard contractual clauses and assess supplementary safeguards where required.

Your rights

Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw it for the future. You may complain to a competent German data protection supervisory authority.
