Client experiences
What changed after the conversation
Client experiences from parental leave and return-to-work planning consultations in Germany.
“My manager was supportive, but every conversation ended with ‘send us some dates’. Anna helped me compare two leave periods and identify the exact points HR still needed. The follow-up note was short enough that I actually used it.”
Leonie · Parental Leave & Return Plan
“I wanted three fixed days and had not thought through team coverage on Mondays. The session challenged that part of my proposal. I was slightly disappointed there was no ready-made letter, but the meeting outline was more useful because our company has its own forms.”
David · Return Conversation Preparation
“The helpful moment was separating what I should ask HR from what needed to go to the Elterngeldstelle. I stopped sending the same question to both and got clearer answers.”
Sofia · Part-Time Options Check
“We planned the handover before my second leave period and the return six months later. Having a fallback set of hours made the discussion with my department head much less tense.”
Rachel · Follow-up planning session
A return plan after the role had changed
One client came back to a team that had reorganised during eleven months of leave. Her job title remained, but the reporting line and weekly meeting rhythm had changed. Rather than treating the old role description as the whole conversation, we prepared questions about current responsibilities, the first-month handover and how a four-day pattern would affect the new team calendar.
She proposed a review after eight weeks instead of asking everyone to treat the first arrangement as permanent. That gave the employer a concrete point to assess coverage and gave her a date to raise any mismatch between agreed hours and actual workload.
